Mr. John Chan, OTL’s Founder and Executive Chairman

The Group's founder and Executive Chairman, Mr. John C. Chan is a Certified Accountant (FCCA) and a Chartered Secretary (FCIS). He was also president of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants in 1981.


Mr. Chan joined Jardine Matheson & Co. Ltd. in 1970 served 18 years of service in the Group's various units in Hong Kong including the Corporate Head Office, Finance Division, Aviation, Shipping and Transportation, Manufacturing, Marketing and Distribution, Engineering and Construction and Property Development subsidiaries. He was appointed a Group General Manager in January 1980 and then a Director in January 1985.

　　

In January 1989, Mr. Chan joined Abdul Latif Jameel Group, a major private enterprise in Saudi Arabia as Executive Vice President and General Manager responsible for the Group's Toyota, Toshiba, Akai and Philco businesses in Saudi Arabia. Mr. Chan spear-headed the development of 20 new Toyota branches and 10 Toshiba sales and service centres in Saudi Arabia, increased Toyota's market share in Saudi Arabia from 33% to 40% and raised Toyota's after sale service in Saudi Arabia considerably winning Toyota's Best Of Best Award in 1993 (only 5 national distributors out of 130 got this honors).


Mr. Chan returned to Hong Kong in August 1994 to focus on the development of the Oriental Technology Group.
